Bpal pumpkin patch

Pumpkin may make for a very interesting variation. Wet : That impression of a pumpkin dessert, but an incredibly light one, remains. Sweet and pumpkin-y, but very gentle. The bergamot is also peeking out. Drydown : Alice starts taking charge of the scent. The very lightly spiced pumpkin is still there, but now it's behind the creamy sweet rose of Alice rather than beside or almost in front. Verdict : I'm not sure yet about a bottle, but I'm considering it.

Anyone who likes the idea of pumpkin but not the often heavy, rich scents it inspires should play with this. I really adore the original Alice blend, but don't feel like the addition of pumpkins adds anything to it. I think I much prefer the original Alice. I'm not great with notes, but originally I wanted to say something about the pleasant milkiness, the spicy carnation, the warm pumpkin Then I asked the boy, who notoriously dislikes everything but foody smells, if it smelled good.

He said, "Yes, you smell like french toast. Every time I put it on, that's all I can think of. French toast dusted with pumpkin pie spices. Maybe there's a bouquet on the table, too, I can still smell the florals if I'm looking for them. It sticks around for a good hours or so! In the imp, I have a hard time identifying anything other than the pumpkin note but if I strain, I can find the milk smoothing it out and adding some creaminess.

It's much the same on my skin, though I can also start to make out the carnation, again if I try hard. My skin likes to amp the hell out of the spices in most any pumpkin blend but so far it's not overwhelming the delicate play of the other notes. I have hope! I am rewarded with a deeper scent than it seems at first sniff. Though the pumpkin spice which I find can go craft-store in an instant and ruin everything is definitely present, it doesn't obliterate the florals.

I think the milk note may be tempering it enough to allow the florals to bloom. It's really quite light and pretty, which is surprising for a pumpkin blend with all the spices. I doubt I need a bottle of this, but it's prettier than a first sniff might suggest. This is another one I haven't had the chance to try the GC version of, and I think I need to, after looking at the description.

In the imp: pumpkin spice with floral I have no idea why I'm getting that. I think it's the citrus-y note off the bergamot. Wet on skin: ok, there we go - flowers and pumpkin spice. I'm still getting a hint of lemon pickle in the throw, but when I sniff my wrists, i get lovely flowers and spice.

Dried down: this one is actually taking some time to dry down into my skin. It doesn't seem to be morphing, though. Which is good, because I like the scent it's got now. Throw: this definitely has some throw.

We'll see how it lasts through the day. I have a party in a few hours, so depending how it goes, I might layer some Snake Oil with it. Wet on Skin: Oh this is so pretty! I didn't even realize I would love this so much! I am getting a milky vanilla with some rose and pumpkin.

I feel like there is carnation helping to blend the rose and the pumpkin together better, but wow. So pretty! Also I detect cinnamon, but it is more like a cinnamon sugar and I don't really smell any other spices.

I'm getting an almost sparkly quality from this scent. Dry on Skin: The carnation is much more prominent now and what I'm getting full on Alice with this slightly food slightly bready pumpkin. The pumpkin is really subtle and is more of a food tinge really, but it gives so much depth to the milk, rose, carnation, sparkle combination that I love so much in Alice. The rose, carnation, pumpkin combination is more beautiful than I expected. Overall: Oh, I love this.

I think I may need a bottle. I often wear Alice to sleep and this to me is definitely a day time Alice to wear while out and about! Really surprised I ended up loving this. I tried the original Alice not long ago and didn't like it at all. It's the carnation, you see. I amp it like crazy and it ended up destroying Alice for me. What's nice about Alice in the Pumpkin Patch is that the pumpkin mellows the carnation to the point that it's not only tolerable but pleasant.

Like another reviewer, I find this turns rapidly to masala chai on my skin - the real kind served in restaurants, with heavy cream and perfumed spices. The pumpkin itself is pretty muted on my skin. Unlike that reviewer, I'm very happy with this stage. During the next stage, the rose blooms. Again I'm reminded of the more aromatic aspects of an Indian meal - now my wrist smells like some cream-rich dessert with rosewater and exotic spices.

Wet: Much as on cold sniff, but more rose, carnation and bergamot, and less milk, honey, and pumpkin. The dry-down: All the notes have settled down and blended into something just amazing and gorgeous! It's like Alice amped and surrounded by creamy pumpkin goodness. Way to create a vision, huh? Chypre is one complex note; citrus, moss, musk. The addition of pomegranate only makes it more complex.

This reads as unisex to me. Dia De Los Muertos — Dry, crackling leaves, the incense smoke of altars honoring Death and the Dead, funeral bouquets, the candies, chocolates, foods and tobacco of the ofrenda, amaranth, sweet cactus blossom and desert cereus. Haunted Houses — Quiet, ineffective ghosts haunting the realm of mystery and night, stretching dusty hands back to homes and lifetimes unforgotten: pale gossamer musks swirling in thick, dense otherworldly vapours through cracks in dry wood and old, old stones.

What they pulled off here is incredible. The description is dead on; like cold, old stone with light musk and slight florals in the background. Day of the Skulls — White sandalwood, beeswax, and frankincense crowned by hydrangea, rose, and kantuta blossoms, dressed with tobacco, cocoa leaves and flowers from the sacred Cactus of the Four Winds.

In Bolivia, many people hold to the tradition of keeping the skulls of their ancestors with them in their homes, caring for their remains. It is believed that each person has seven souls, and one of those souls stays with the skull after death, enabling a spirit to grant protection and prophetic dreams to their descendants, and to bless their families with good health and prosperity. The rose is the prominent note on me, but mixed with other soft blooms and a warm, earthiness.

Such a pretty floral. All Souls — On November 2nd, prayers are sung and offerings are made to aid lost souls in transcending purgatory. An incense blend that invokes the higher qualities of mercy and compassion, mingled with the soft, sugared currant scent of offertory soul cakes. Buttery, sweet and warm from incense all at the same time.

I kinda want to eat myself. Tradition calls for BPAL to create a batch of scents heavy with pumpkin, the unofficial scent of Halloween. This year, favorite offerings form the lab were spilled upon the pumpkin patch…. Alice in the Pumpkin Patch — Alice is Milk and honey with rose, carnation and bergamot.

Dorian in the Pumpkin Patch — Dorian is Victorian fougere with three pale musks and dark, sugared vanilla tea. Moroccan in the Pumpkin Patch — Morocco is the intoxicating perfume of exotic incenses wafting on warm desert breezes. Arabian spices wind through a blend of warm musk, carnation, red sandalwood and cassia. Samhain in the Pumpkin Patch — damp woods, fir needle, and black patchouli with the gentlest touches of warm pumpkin, clove, nutmeg, allspice, sweet red apple and mullein.

Sin in the Pumpkin Patch — amber, sandalwood, black patchouli and cinnamon. I have to be honest, for the most part the pumpkin just devours the original scents on my skin. The only exception is Dorian, Dorian and Pumpkin played very nicely together. The Trading Post is filled with Halloween deliciousness right now! And a whole bunch more; t-shirts, massage oil, candles. Trust me on this.

As with the oil, this is primarily white floral to me. I did too! This is a sassy little grouping of products with comic book style illustrations by Aidan Casserly. Sylvia, the She-Wolf — Snuggly brown musk, spicy carnation, leather balsam, bourbon vanilla, terebinth pine, yew berry, and a touch of clove. Callidora, The Vamp — Blood musk, Egyptian myrrh, Mayan cacao, 7-year aged red patchouli, Siamese benzoin, and tobacco absolute.

Whoa, not for me. Very sharp and kind of animal scented. Shiny Furball — Himalayan cedar, vanilla musk, lavender, black clove, honeyed coconut, fir balsam, and juniper berry. Very woodsy, with the cedar being the strongest.

Reminds me of when I used to play in my Grandparents attic, going through boxes of old photos and mementos. Lightening Storm — Vivid flashes of dazzling electricity: white mint, white tea, white ginger, a jolt of yuzu, and electric green lime.

I mean, I like it, but it's not one of my favorites. However, I am a big fan of the blends that feature Snake Oil plus other notes, so this was an instant bottle purchase. In the bottle: I mainly smell the Snake Oil. The pumpkin note is there, but it isn't as strong as the pumpkin in the other pumpkin patch scents I've tried when sniffed in the bottle. It smells like a creamy, sweet pumpkin. This is really well blended.

Wet: Huzzah! The pumpkin is more prominent on my skin than it is in the bottle. However, that doesn't mean that the Snake Oil is in the background. It, too, is at the front of the blend, and it really complements the pumpkin note. The pumpkin note doesn't seem to be buttery at all. It's a nice, spiced pumpkin that one would use in baking. I am really enjoying this! The pumpkin really softens the heady spices that I usually get when first applying Snake Oil.

This is a good thing, because I usually prefer the drydown of Snake Oil to the scent that I get from it when it is first applied. Dry: This is mainly the drydown of Snake Oil with a hint of pumpkin spice. The drydown of Snake Oil tends to be different on me. Sometimes it is powdery, but other times, I get that lovely vanilla. Right now, I am getting the former, with the spices from the pumpkin, and a hint of vanilla. The drydown of this smelled better on the boy when he wore it yesterday he usually gets that wonderful vanilla on the drydown.

Verdict: I am keeping my bottle because I like this, and I'm sure it will age wonderfully. However, it is not my favorite pumpkin patch scent this year. The spiced pumpkin note is more prominent now, and the drydown is a lovely pumpkin spice Snake Oil scent as opposed to just regular Snake Oil with a hint of pumpkin spice. It ended up being one of my favorite Weenies this year! Straight up red musk heavy Snake Oil.

No pumpkin, barely any of the other notes in Snake Oil, just red musk. It's the yucky kind of red musk too. Straight-up Halloween sexiness in a bottle. This is my favourite of all of this year's pumpkin patch scents. I've only lightly skin-tested this baby because my bottles are going into my super-secret BPAL storage box of rarities and treasures and there they will sleep for the next years until they're thick and oozy with aged Snake Oil goodness.

I cannot wait for that day but wait for it I will and patiently so. Beth is a genius, if you didn't know. This is one of the best Snake Oil incarnations ever and so good I just cannot stop huffing my arm and making orgasm noises.

Perfect balance of pumpkin and snake. I have a feeling this will be crazy sought after in two years. When wet, I pick up the spicy pumpkin, in about equal measure with the Snake Oil. As it dries down, I find the pumpkin mellows out, and makes this a somewhat softer Snake Oil with a slightly more pronounced spiciness. Once fully dry, though, I find it hard to distinguish from regular Snake Oil, so I probably don't need a bottle.

Wet On Skin: Ah, the pumpkin is coming out a bit more now. I was hoping for that, as Snake Oil can sometimes easily overpower anything in it's path. Dry Down: Wow, I'm really surprised at how strong the pumpkin is in this! I feel like it's just sorta of hopping from foot to foot:" now it's pumpkin! Wait, but now it's Snake Oil! Aaaaaand now it's pumpkin again! But hold on-! I predict that the pumpkin and SO will mingle more, absorb each others' essence more, and become something really fine.

Don't get me wrong- I'm happy to have this bottle now! Its SO alrighty. The pumpkin is spicy.. He'll slather himself in it. First Impression of it in the bottle was that it was pure Buttery Pumpkin with a hint of spice. It was incredibly overwhelming to have on so I tried it for one day, then put it away for a couple of days to try my Imps. Tried it again a few days later but put a few drops in coconut oil to dilute and prevent a headache and got pure buttery pumpkin with a hint of spice and just incredible.

I spent most of the day sniffing myself. Third time, I used undiluted oil on my skin and have gotten mostly a spicey scent with a hint of buttery pumpkin. Hubby says he smells both in equal measure and thinks its delicious. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment.
