Wifi mtu 9000

In the future I could receommend you ignore questions you feel to respond like you did. I would also point out typing take a lot less keystrokes than your response. I don think any consumer grade networking hardware has a limit grater than Theoretically, its bytes but the last 18 is overhead.

You can find the "optimal" MTU size under window by performing a sustained ping test. If the prompt says packets need to be fragmented, reduce the size until you do not get the message. Thanks for the useful info. I am trying to chase down why devices fail to show up in the attached devices list.

I am trying to isolate anything that could be impacting my environment. I am a network engineer and realize the mtu should have no impact on a visibility issue. I have swapped out switches, normalized all the configurations and still have issue.

One device which is not operating correctly is my Samsung network DVR. I will try a few more things today but it looks as if this router is going back. It seems to be a long standing problem across the family of devices according to posts in the community.

Any my suggestions to address core problem are appreciated. I Will try to be good and not ask questions thaofendsensibilites of community. Here is the thing I can think of:- Someone might have globally enabled the command: system mtu jumbo which in turn has changed the interfaces to be mtu size.

In response to InayathUlla Sharieff. Hi and thanks for the reply. Please note that Gig interface are and FA are How is this configured? Is it becasue its GB and FA?

Also, understand that the ethernet MTU, per the ethernet standard, is octets, and jumbo frames are non-standard, so you can have problems.
