Squirrel creek wildfire update




















Today, aircraft will assist crews to ensure the line stays secure. The dozer line coming down off Grizzly Ridge which runs west into Greenhorn and Lava Peak, then south into Squirrel Creek, is going well but some work is still needed. These lines will be used to protect the communities to the southwest of the fire if needed. Crews will continue to prep the dozer line running south in Pine Creek Valley and try to tie it into Rock Pine Creek and then tie it into the road system.

All lines in the Genesee Valley held last night as firefighters continued work on mopping up and securing homes. Behind Taylorsville, firefighters got good depth put in behind the houses, further protecting them. Crews are working on adding additional dozer line to the south of Taylorsville.
